If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
1 John 3: 20-22

How do we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask? We must find what our heart condemns and repent those things unconditionally. When we start this process of searching for what our heart condemns, we must not be worried about the consequences or hardships we face. “Cast your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” When we do these things, God works for us.

The first step is to find everything our heart condemns. We use our conscience to seek out those things we know and feel are wrong. Start from the tiniest sin When we find something to repent, stop doing it cold turkey. Are you a smoker? Do you drink? Don’t taper off the number of cigarettes you smoke or the number of drinks you have. Cut them off immediately! Do you complain? Do you feel despair? Are you a jealous person? Do you live in constant fear? Are you arrogant? Do you backbite and speak ill of others? Do you lie? Repent and stop cold turkey. Sometimes in life, to feel and experience true change, we need to be drastic in our relationship to sin. Stop bad things at once! Don’t rationalize or procrastinate! If you stumble, repent immediately and start again. Ask for forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. Whatever it is our heart condemns or our conscience tells us is wrong, repent and fix it instantly! There will be a point when we pray, “Dear Lord, I’ve repented and fixed everything my heart condemns. Please open my eyes to see anything I’ve missed.” We must reach this point!

When we try to fix our lives and repent everything little thing our conscience condemns, we encounter hardships. We will ruffle some feathers. If God doesn’t condemn us, it doesn’t matter if the whole world does! We might lose our job or lose money or lose friendships. But don’t worry! We must cast all our worries on God! Entrust Him with everything. If our hearts don’t condemn us and we’ve cast all our worries on God, we have confidence before Him. When was the last time you felt real confidence? We talk a lot about having confidence and being self assured. The only true confidence comes from finding and repenting everything our hearts condemn. When we entrust God with everything, we live in peace and harmony for the first time. We are liberated.

Once we repent and trust God, He takes care of us. We receive from Him anything we ask. If our hearts are clean and we’ve cast all our anxieties on Him, God gives us money when we need money. He gives us jobs when we need to work. He solves problems that seem insurmountable. He is omniscient and omnipotent. He does a better job than we could ever do! Cast all your worries and leave it in His hands!

If we follow His commands…
If we seek out and destroy all the things our heart condemns…
If we cast all our anxieties upon Him…
He will not leave us to perish. He will not leave us to die in the lion’s den.

Repeat after me:

Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame!
Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame!

These are things we can do right now. Look inside and find what your heart condemns. Fix it now! Don’t wait for tomorrow. If we do this, we have confidence before God and we receive from Him anything we ask.
