As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

James 2:26

Repeat after me:

Faith without deeds is dead!

Faith without deeds is dead!
We might be able to fool others with our godly words and haughty talk of faith. We might fool our preacher, fellow church members, and others, but we cannot fool God who is all-knowing and all-powerful and judges us according to our works. If we have faith without deeds, we are only fooling ourselves. God is not fooled.
It does not matter how much we read or know the Word of God- it is more important to put into action the one piece of knowledge we know than to know many things and never act. Two things can happen when we attempt to execute the Word of God. The outcome of our actions can result in some degree of failure or success. If the results bring what we perceive as failure, it is God’s way of “treating” us or curing us of our ills. And what does it mean when success comes? It is God’s way of showering us with His blessings.
If we meet failure or an unfavorable outcome when putting the Word of God into motion, it is God’s way of “curing” our lifestyle and everything that is wrong in our lives. Without curing these ills first, we can never truly be healthy. It is God’s way of curing all the so-called success we achieved through sinning. He is clearing the plate for future blessings. So failure can be good. And the success we achieve after executing the word of God is no longer God trying to cure us: it is His pure blessings.
So when we act according to the word of God, is it better to enjoy success or suffer failure first? It is better to experience failure because God is clearing out all the “fake” blessings and curses that will cause our destruction in the future. For example, if you have been running your business accepting and committing sins but decide to act according to the Word of God, in the beginning, the business will stumble. Should you despair? No! It is God’s way of curing your business of sin and clearing the path for future blessings. But what if you are sinning and you are doing well and successful? When you sin and success comes, it is a “fake” blessing. It may appear good on the outside, but it is a fireball of calamity on the inside.

Repeat after me:

I will perish if I sin!

If I sin, chastise me!

Destroy all my sins!

If I repent, cure and bless me!

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ!

Amen!
We must pray for God to chastise us when we sin and pray for God to cure and bless us when we repent. God chastises the ones He loves! So do not despair or try to avoid His chastisement! Do not brush your sins under the rug because those sins will cause you to perish! We must pray, “Lord, I may be committing sins I don’t even know I’m committing. Alert me to those sin through your chastisement. And if I recognize those sins and repent, please cure and bless me!”
Faith without deeds is dead. We must put to action and execute the Word of God. We must do better than talking a good game but never acting. When we put our faith into action, we confront obstacles and failures. It is God’s way of curing us of all our ills; He chastises us so we can repent all our sins and clear the way for Him to shower us with His infinite blessings.
