Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Revelations 3:10

God tests our perseverance. When I say perseverance, I mean the ability to be patient, endure, and continue a course of action despite confronting obstacles. It’s easy to start things. As Christians, we begin many acts of faith without much thought or hesitation. It’s essential to continue these acts without pause. We must be consistent. For this reason, Scripture stresses the importance of perseverance.

God tests our perseverance. Daniel worked hard in his faith, and he confronted a situation that urged him to quit and halt a course of action. Daniel could have given up on his faith when faced with the lion’s den. Joseph could have given up on his faith when seduced by Potiphar’s wife. But they both persevered. Both of them were consistent in their acts of faith. When we commit to living through faith, we must continue living by faith despite meeting hardships and facing extreme challenges. We must forge ahead by continuing to execute the word of God without compromise.

When we visit church members or do other acts of faith, we are zealous at first. But after some time, we lose steam and fail to be consistent. Consistency is the mother of success. If you start something, continue it! If you start something, don’t stop because you meet obstacles and hardships!

When we mentor and lead others to Christ, we work hard; we are diligent, wise, and faithful. We fail when we are unable to persevere, to continue this course of action without pause. We must not be fickle! We must be steady in our faith! We must be consistent! We must practice fostering and nurturing our ability to persevere and sustain a way of life. We will never succeed without this kind of perseverance!

Repeat after me:

Consistency is the mother of success!

Consistency produces success!

As Christians, we begin new acts of faith all the time. Some are easy. Some are hard. If we start something, we must continue it despite the obstacles we confront. We must persevere and follow through to the end. If you start something, be consistent!

Summary

  1. If you start something, continue without fail.
  2. Consistency is the mother of success.
  3. Foster your ability to persevere.
