13“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:13

We can overcome anything in life if we pray. It is our most lethal and powerful weapon. It is our way to salvation, peace of mind, and glory. It is our way of talking to God. Think about that phrase. Prayer is our way of talking to the Almighty. It is our way of talking to the Creator of all things. Can you think of anyone better? Prayer is a special right for Christians. When we pray, consider these four things.
One, we must pray with conviction. In other words, we must believe God will answer our prayers. Many times, we approach prayer with a “better than nothing” attitude. It might work. It might not. We pray because we play the odds. Even before we start to kneel and pray, we are already filled with doubts about God and the effectiveness of prayer. We need to stop this. Have faith. Believe that God will answer your prayer.
Two, we must understand certain prayers may not be fulfilled because they are not in line with God’s direction or we are not prepared to receive them. There are some things we know we shouldn’t be praying for! We know in our heart of hearts, some prayers are selfish and have nothing to do with God. Eliminate those prayers. And for some prayers, we’re just not ready for God to give us those things. Persevere and become the person God can shower His blessings upon.
Three, our prayers must be focused, infused with all our faith, energy, hearts, and hopes without any distraction. A good way of praying is to be concise. In one prayer sitting, instead of rambling on and on, drifting in and out of sleep, divide your prayer into many concise prayers. Stamp them with an “amen” and send them to Jesus! “I pray for the health of my family. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. I pray to solve this issue at work. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.” Keep your prayers concise and keep sending them to Jesus. Don’t fall into the bad habit of unorganized, pointless “prayers” that have nothing to do with God, but everything to do with your ego and selfish desires. Don’t ramble. Be concise and focused in your prayers.
Four, God asks us to pray constantly. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.” Why? Each prayer requires a different amount. Consider each prayer topic as different-sized bowls that require different amounts of water. Some may only require a short prayer while others may need to be carried out through a lifetime. As we prepare for the challenges we face or the hardships we are experiencing, we must constantly pray to fill the different bowls with the right amount of prayer.
Are you in trouble? Are your prayers being ignored? Have you lost direction in your life? Do you need help? Whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, we have the power of prayer to connect with God and solve all our problems. When we kneel to pray, remember these for things: God answers all our prayers. Pray for the right things. Be concise and stamp each prayer. Pray without ceasing because each prayer is  a different-sized bowl. If we commit ourselves to
prayer and heed these four things, God listens to our prayers. For what more could we ask?
