“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.” Pslam 136
What is the deciding factor for success in life? It depends on how well we connect to God’s grace. It depends on the breadth and substance of our relationship to God and His grace. We receive God’s boundless grace by recognizing that grace, enjoying it, and giving thanks.
One. Look for God’s grace.
We are so busy we become oblivious of God’s grace. We accept everything happing in our lives as either a direct result of our efforts or random events of which we have no control. Open your eyes and look for God’s grace! This “grace” refers to God giving to us despite being undeserving recipients. God’s grace is everywhere in our lives, from the trivial to the meaningful. It is a matter of opening our eyes and looking for it.
Two. Value God’s grace.
When we look for God’s grace in our lives, learn to value and cherish it. Compare its value and worth to anything you consider significant in this world. There is no comparison. And we must never get in the habit of disregarding God’s grace or positioning it behind worldly help. Place God’s grace at the top of the list!
Three. Enjoy God’s grace.
We work hard to create something on our own. We become ingrained in the business of creating happiness and success. But God has everything we need. Our job is to tap into this grace and receive it. Enjoy it! Make it a part of your life! Once we become accustomed to finding God’s grace, cherishing it, and using it in our lives, we rely solely on His grace for everything in our lives. There is nothing to seek outside of God’s grace.
Four. Giving thanks keeps the grace coming.
Giving thanks turns on the faucet of grace. Being thankful is the cornerstone of any Christian’s life. Look for God’s grace, value it, enjoy it, and be thankful. Be a grateful person, and God will shower us with His infinite blessings.
Trying to succeed outside of God is suicide. Think about the “great” things we can receive in life: money, success, and honor, to name a few. Once you achieve these things, you realize it’s all in vain. It leaves you empty and unfulfilled because you know at the last stop for all these so-called accomplishments, these happy moments and achievements, you will cry buckets of tears. Everything outside of God loses their vitality when confronted with death. They are short-lived and transient. God created the world in six days. Through His grace, He gives us everything we need. Tap into this grace and remember “all is vanity” without God.
Summary
- Look for God’s grace.
- Value His grace.
- Enjoy His grace.
- Give thanks.
