5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for before he was taken up, he was attested to have been pleasing to God. Hebrews 11:5

Every situation in life is a present from God. It gives us the opportunity to find His will, entrust everything we have to Him, and obey. Every situation in life is an opportunity to please Him.

Let’s believe in God. Let’s hope in God. He will never deceive us. He sent His only begotten Son to save us. Have faith that He will watch over us, that He will give us everything we need. So entrust Him with all your worries. Entrust everything physical and spiritual. Entrust your business, your career, your family… entrust everything important in your life to God. He will take responsibility for everything. Even when they hit strong winds and turbulent waters, the disciples crossed the river because the Lord helped them. Don’t hesitate or fear keeping His commands. When you keep His commands, you could be thrown into a fiery furnace but escape unscathed. As the Bible teaches us, have faith in His love. Cast all your anxieties upon the Lord!

Because He is the omnipotent and omniscient One, obey His every command. We can be shortsighted and limited in our scope of knowledge. For this reason, our laughter turns to tears, our joy to sorrow. Because we experience so many ups and downs, we focus on keeping everything good all the time. We don’t realize that the bad can be a path toward the good. The bad isn’t always bad. It can be a path toward good. So we endure. We persevere.

Our task is to believe in Him, entrust everything to Him, obey His every command, and withstand and endure whatever comes our way as a result of doing these things. We believe, entrust and obey, and something bad happens. Keep pressing on! We believe, entrust, and obey, and something great happens. Keep pressing on! Whatever the results, we stay focused on the process because we know He will be good to us in the end.

In other words, all this believing, entrusting and obeying boils down to pleasing the Lord. The Bible says, “So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.” In whatever situation you find yourself, ask, “How can I please the Lord?” What thoughts will please Him? What plans will please Him? When God judges me, will He be pleased with what I’m doing or saying? The superficial content of our reality changes all the time, but our core task never changes: please the Lord!

If we look at life from this perspective, every situation in life we confront can be considered a gift from God. It might not look like a gift, but everything we confront, good or bad, is a gift from God. It’s an opportunity to please God. It’s an opportunity to find His will and act accordingly. It’s an opportunity for God to shower us with His blessings. It might be hard sometimes, but when something takes your breath away and knocks you down, take a moment and remember, “This is a gift from God.” Transcend your perceptions of good and bad, and find what pleases God.

Who is the most blessed? Who is the most powerful? Those who please God and believe He will guide them to their happiest places. So it doesn’t matter what comes our way: death, money, poverty, resentment, war… Everything is a present from God because it allows us to find His will, entrust, and obey. Every situation in life is a present because pleasing God has a direct correlation to our own happiness! We must stop thinking that living a life of faith will be tortuous and full of despair. No! These gifts allow us to find a path to pleasing God. Let’s cherish every situation in life because it’s an opportunity to please God. What is there to complain about?
