21 “You shall work six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest. 22 And you shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. 23 Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God. Exodus 34:31-24

God tells us to celebrate three feasts: the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles. The Bible says, “Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord God…” But for us, we celebrate these feasts all day and every day, and they are part and parcel of who we are as Christians. And if we do, God promises to “drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders.” He will eliminate all our obstacles and allow us to grow and expand.

The Feast of Passover is the feast of deliverance and salvation. The feast celebrates the Israelites’ escape from death and slavery in Egypt. For us, the Feast of Passover celebrates our escape and liberation from the world. God saved our souls and redeemed us. We break free from death, sin, and the devil through our regeneration. God delivers us from a hopeless world of sin and death. He gives us something that did not exist. That’s how we celebrate the Feast of Passover. We thank God for regenerating our spirits and giving us life. It’s a feast to celebrate God giving us what we need when we need it! Did you land a new job? Did you fall into some money? Did you meet new people? Did God solve a problem that’s been hanging over you? All these things fall under the category of God giving us salvation and delivering us. The Feast of Passover celebrates God delivering us from sin and giving us salvation.

After God gives us salvation, delivers us, and gives us what we need, what do we do? We celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. This feast commemorates the Law given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. For us, the Feast of Pentecost celebrates God’s guidance, and God guides us at every turn through the Bible and His Holy Inspiration. We celebrate this feast by recognizing and adhering to the will of God. What is God’s will? What is He guiding me to do? Where do I go from here? We look for answers in the Bible and the voice of God instructing us through the Holy Inspiration living inside of us. Doing these things in life amounts to celebrating the Feast of Pentecost!

The Feast of Tabernacles commemorates God watching over and protecting the Israelites during their forty-year journey in the wilderness. It is a “Feast of Shelters.” After God gives us salvation and guides us, what do we need? We need His protection and shelter. Think about it. God delivers us and saves us. He guides us through the “wilderness.” But how long would we last without his protection? For this reason, we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles by acknowledging and accepting God will provide shelters and booths and every kind of protection we need to get through life.

Salvation, guidance, and protection are the only things we need as Christians. There’s nothing to add or subtract; it is everything we need, and we must do these three “feasts” without pause. And the “price” for these things to continue and thrive in our life is thankfulness. If we are thankful for God’s salvation, He will continue to deliver. If we are thankful for His guidance, He will continue to guide. If we are thankful for His protection, He will continue to protect. We run into problems when we devalue these things and forget about them. We lose God’s salvation, guidance, and protection when we do not pay for the price of His grace. And that price is our thankfulness.

Wherever you are in life, whatever predicament you find yourself in, or however well your life is going, do these three things unceasingly and keep them churning so God can continue to be a part of your lives! Be thankful for His salvation and deliverance! Be thankful for His guidance! Be thankful for His protection! If we celebrate these three Feasts, our spirits will be solid. Our minds and bodies will be solid. Our families and loved ones will be solid. Our jobs and businesses will be solid. For what more can you ask?
